Obit - Unknown paper - Hammons Funeral Home, Littlefield, TX in charge of arrangements. Gracie Jewell Ball, 89, of Dimmitt, died at 7:25 a.m. Friday in Plains Memorial Hospital in Dimmitt after an illness. Services were held Monday afternoon in Hammons Funeral Home in Littlefield with Rev. Cliff Hargrove, pastor of the First Baptist Church of Sudan, officiating. He was assisted by Mrs. Ball's grandson, Gregory Ball, a youth minister at the Word of Life Church in Shreveport, La. Burial followed in Littlefield Cemetery. Mrs. Ball was born in Glenrose. She married Owen Ball on Aug. 9, 1923, in Wellington. He preceded her in death. Survivors include five sons. James O. of Littlefield, Alvin P. of Dallas, Bobby R. of Lawton, Okla., Morris L. of Denver, Colo. and Max H. of Arlington; two daughters, Evelyn McBee of Oklahoma City, Okla., and Della Mae Chapman of Dimmitt; two brothers, Payne Wood of Lubbock and A.V. Wood of Muleshoe; five sisters, Geneva Bradley of Thousand Oaks, Calif., Ethel Schwabb of San Marcos, Calif., Jonnie McCord of Hutchins, Nova Darsey of Amarillo and Edna Seymore of Sudan; 21 grandshilcren; 42 great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
