Obit provided by Payne Funeral Home - "Obit left as printed" Mrs. Wood Rites Held Services for Mrs. John Wood, 85, who had been a resident here since 1923, were at 2:30 p.m. Tuesday in the First Baptist Church. The Rev. V. J. Lowrance, of Fort Worth, the Rev. Donald Day of Canyon and the Rev. N. A. Cooper of Gonzales officiated. Burial was in Amherst Cemetery, directed by Payne Funeral Home. Mrs. Wood, who lived in Wellington before moving here, died Saturday night at her home after a brief illness. Survivors include seven daughters, Mrs. Edna Seymore of Sudan, Mrs. Nova Dorothy of Muleshoe, Mrs. Johnny McCord of Dallas, Mrs. Neva Bradley of Los Angeles, Calif., Mrs. Ethel Boisclair of South San Gabriel, Calif., Mrs. Lucille Blasingame of Baldwin Park, Calif., and Mrs. Gracie Balm, of Littlefield; three sons, -A.D. of Muleshoe, Payne of Lubbock, and W. W. of Glenrose; 41 grandchildren, 92 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-grandchildren, and 10 great-great-grandchildren. Grandsons were pallbearers. Courtesy of Sandra Walker
