The Commercial Advertiser (Red Cloud, NE), Friday, April 1, 1955; pg. 1 Adolph Svoboda Found Dead At His Farm Home ---------- Believed To Have Died In Sleep Saturday Night Adolph Svoboda was found dead at his farm home near Lawrence Sunday afternoon by County Sheriff George Stokes . The sheriff had been called to investigate when Mr. Svoboda failed to make an appearance on Sunday. He had gone to Hastings with a neighbor on Saturday afternoon and had not been seen since. Sheriff Stokes had to force the door in order to gain entrance and found Mr. Svoboda had passed away in his sleep. Mr. Svoboda was born at Spring Ranch and had lived in the Lawrence area for the past 64 years. Surviving are three brothers, Joseph of Deweese, Edward of Glenvil and Theodore of Fairbury. Funeral services were held at the Merten Butler Funeral Home in Blue Hill with the Rev. E. F. Pangburn of Bladen officiating. Burial was in the Lawrence cemetery.
