Bio

Obituary - The Alton, Iowa Democrat - February 2, 1956 John Vander Kooi, who was taken to Sioux Center Hospital Sturday afternoon died a few hours later. Funeral services will be held Thursday, 1 o'clock from the home and 1:30 from the Christian Reformed Church. Rev. H. Van Deelen will officiate. Surviving is one daughter, Pearl. His wife preceeded him in death August 17, 1955 and a son William died during the Second World War. The following brothers and sisters survive: Mrs. Gertie Kuiper of Hull; Mrs. Agnes Rypkema of George, Mrs. Minnie Visser of Hull, Nick of Clinton, Wis., Mrs. Johanna Koele, William and Ben of Hull. Mr. Vander Kooi was born at Maurice April 11, 1877.
