Homer Henry Chaney was born on January 30, 1899, in Van Zandt, Texas. He married Henrietta Wade on September 25, 1918, in Van Zandt, Texas. They had five children in 12 years. He died on October 30, 1996, in Van Zandt, Texas, at the age of 97 CHANEY, H.H. Funeral services for Homer Henry Chaney, 97, Canton, were held at 2p.m. Nov. 1 in the Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Elder Roy Robinson officiating. Burial was in the Haven of Memories Memorial Park. Mr. Chaney died Oct. 30, 1996, in a Canton health care center. He was born Jan. 30, 1899, in the Willow Springs Community to the late Mack and Lucy Phillips Chaney. He was a Baptist. He worked for the state highway department, then recapped tires for a number of years and was a farmer. He was a resident of Marshall for almost 50 years before returning to Canton five years ago. Survivors include three sons, Raymond Chaney, Bakersfield,California, Richard R. Chaney, Crawford, and Homer H., Chaney, Jr., Quinlan; two daughters, MaryEdith Weldon, Canton, and Rosemary Chaney, Sacremento, California; stepdaughter, Maxine Albrecht, Chalmete, La.; two grandchildren; and numerous great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews and cousins.
