Bio

When Ollie Lee Chaney was born on May 11, 1890, in Van Zandt, Texas, his father, Benjamin, was 36 and his mother, Ludie, was 22. He married Effie Adeline Daniel on July 1, 1908 in Van Zandt County, Texas. They had seven children in 15 years. He died on November 26, 1956, in Wills Point, Van Zandt, Texas, at the age of 66. The Canton Herald, Thursday, November 29, 1956 O.L. Chaney, 66, Dies Sunday Ollie Lee Chaney, 66, died at 12:30 Sunday in the Highland Community. Funeral services were held Monday afternoon at 3 o'clock under the direction of Hilliard and Sons Funeral Home. Rev. A.L. Cates, pastor of Little Hope Church, read the last rites and interment was in Haven of Memories Cemetery. A complete obituary will appear in the next week's Herald. (note: there was not a followup obit) His death certificate states that he was born in Van Zandt County, Texas to Mack Chaney and Ludie Pennington and that he died in Wills Point, Van Zandt County, Texas.
