He died on January 5, 2006, in Dallas, Texas, at the age of 74. Services for Homer Henry Chaney Jr., 74, Greenville, formerly of Canton, were held at 2 p.m. Sunday, January 8, at Eubank Funeral Home Chapel, Canton, with Pastor Jeremy Wescott officiating. Burial was in Haven of Memories Memorial Park, Canton. Mr. Chaney died January 5, 2006, in Dallas. He was born July 24, 1931, in Canton. He was of Baptist faith. He worked for Safeway and Piggley Wiggley stores as a cashier. He served in the U.S. Army. He was preceded in death by his father, Homer Henry Chaney Sr.; mother, Henrietta Wade Chaney; and sister, Rosemary Chaney. Survivors include sister, Mary Edith Weldon, Canton; brother, Raymond Chaney, Bakersfield, Calif.; and other relatives.
