Fort Bend Herald, October 11, 2020: Funeral services for Edwin “Ed” Marek, 101 years of age, of Rosenberg, TX, will be held at Community Christian Church, 5220 Reading Road, Rosenberg, Texas 77471, on Saturday, October 10, 2020. Pastor Ben Kruse will officiate the service. Visitation will be between 9:00 AM - 10:00 AM Saturday at the church. There will be a private family service beginning at 10:30, followed by a private interment at Davis Greenlawn Memorial Park, Rosenberg, TX. Edwin was born September 20, 1919, in Alief, TX, to Joe and Bessie Maler Marek and he went to be with the Lord on October 6, 2020. He was a member of Community Christian Church, a veteran of World War II, a member of American Legion Post #271, and a member of VFW Post 3903. He retired from Texas Department of Transportation in 1976 and from a grocery business in 1996. He is preceded in death by his parents, Joe and Bessie Marek; infant brother; wife of 40 years, Millie Nemec Marek; daughter-in-law, Dorothy Marek; great-granddaughter, Emma Rose Marek; and sister, Bertha Marek Hickman. He is survived by his loving wife of 29 years, Emma Lee Kettler Enax Marek of Rosenberg; his sons, Wayne Marek of La Grange, Danny Marek and wife, Janice, of Rosenberg; and daughter, Patsy Marek Kutra and husband, Meinard, of Richmond; his step-children, Diana Enax Beck and husband, Keith, of Rosenberg, James Enax and wife, Cynthia, of Orlando, Florida, Darwin Enax and wife, Janet, of Richmond, and Gary Enax and wife, Dee Dee, of Needville; his grandchildren, Kevin Marek and wife, Laurie Lee, Daryl Marek and wife, Katie, Keith Marek and wife, Shelley, Chris Marek and wife, Rachel, Jaime Kutra Barnett and husband, Scott, and Justin Kutra and wife, Jamie; his step-grandchildren, Brandon Beck and wife, Tracy, Holly Beck Gustavson and husband, Robbie, Lezli Enax Steffen and husband, Bryan, Shellie Enax Smyers and husband, Paul, Stephanie Enax Nidiffer and husband, James, Clint Enax, Justin Lathem, Jeremy Lathem, Armstrong “Army” Miller and wife, Carrie, and Peggy Miller Fitzgerald and husband, Ryan; his great-grandchildren, Miranda Melendez and husband, Michael, Korey Marek, Grace Anne Marek, Matthew Marek, Caiden Marek, Bradley Marek, Ellie Marek, Cody Marek, Eli Marek, and Willow Kutra; his step-great-grandchildren, Desmond Fitzgerald, Deacon Miller, Lyllian Miller, Adele Miller, Adeline Gustavson, Liam Gustavson, Mikayla Beck, and Sebastian Smyers; his great-great-grandchild, Konner Melendez. He was very proud of his family and will always be remembered by everyone who loves him. Pallbearers: Kevin Marek, Daryl Marek, Keith Marek, Chris Marek, Justin Kutra, and Scott Barnett.
