SERVICES HELD AT BRUNO FOR JOHN POHL Funeral services for John F. Pohl, 62, of Bruno were conducted Monday morning, March 2, From St Anthony's Catholic Church at Bruno with a nephew, the Rev. Daniel J. Pohl, celebrating the mass. The sermon was delivered by the Rev. Anthony Trausch. Mr. Pohl died February 26 at the David City Hospital following a lingering illness. Members of the Catholic Workman and the Knights of Columbus attended the services in a body. Relatives coming from a distance for the services were from Columbus, Schuyler, Valley, Omaha, Grand Island, Seward, Lincoln, Utica, Nebraska City, Wahoo, and Chapman, and Collinsville, Illinois. Pallbearers were three K. C. members, Louis Koza, Duane Hlvaç and Bill Koza, and three K. D. members, Ernie Yindrick, Ed Kozisek and Ernie Coufal. Burial was in the Bruno Catholic Cemetery. John Fred Pohl, the son of James and Mary Petr Pohl, was born June 21, 1907, at Bruno. He attended School District 54, Holy Trinity at Brainard, and was graduated from the David City Public School. On October 25, 1937, he was married at St. Anthony's Church, Bruno, to Elsie Zeleny. Five children, four sons and a daughter were born to this union. Mr. Pohl resided during his entire lifetime on the farm where he was born. He was a member of St. Anthony's Church, the Catholic Workman and the Knights of Columbus. In addition to his wife, Elsie, he is survived by four children Kenneth and Dennis of David City, and Mary Ann and Thomas at home, three brothers, Edward of Chapman, Andrew of Omaha and James of Collinsville, Illinois, four sisters, Sisters, Gerard and Juliana of Omaha, Sister Kathryn of David City and Mrs. Edwin Hinesh, of Phoenix, Arizona and three grandchildren, Lori Ann, Lynn Marie and Daniel Pohl. son, John, Jr., his parents and one brother preceded him in death.
