ELSIE POHL Elsie M. Pohl, 84, of David City died Sunday, November 5, at David Place in David City. Mrs. Pohl was born December 21, 1915, near Bruno to Frank and Antonie (Janak) Zeleny. She attended Bruno schools through the tenth grade. She married John F. Pohl October 25, 1937, in Bruno. She lived in Bruno until moving to David City in 1987. She was a homemaker. She was a member of St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City, the Altar Society at St. Anthony's Parish in Bruno, and Catholic Daughters of America. Survivors include two sons and a daughter-in-law, Kenneth of David City and Thomas, and Cathy of Bruno, a daughter son-in-law, Mary Ann and Scott Prigge of Ulysses, 14 grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband in 1970, two sons, Dennis and John Jr., three brothers, Joe, Adolph, and Edward and three sisters, Helen, Irma, and Sylvia. Services are Wednesday, November 8, at 10 a.m. at St. Anthony's Catholic Church with Father Thomas Lux officiating. Burial is at the parish cemetery. Pallbearers are Matt Pohl, Danny Pohl, Allen Pohl, Terry Pohl, Lance Napier, and Scott Prigge. Honorary pallbearers are Kris Pohl, Cindy Napier, Connie Pohl, Michelle Pohl, Deanna Pohl, Elizabeth Prigge, Alison Prigge, Brian Prigge, Lori Stewart, and Lynn Styskal. Memorials may be given in care of the family. Arrangements were made by Roberts Funeral Home of David City.
