Funeral Services Held Feb. 4 For Alexander Pohl Funeral services were conducted Feb 4, 1954, at St. Mary's Catholic Church in David City for Alexander L. Pohl, 53, of Bruno. Mr. Pohl died Jan. 31 at the home of his parents after a 10 year illness with multiple sclerosis. His son, Rev. Daniel J. Pohl of Lincoln, was the celebrant of the solemn requiem mass. Rev. Wm. Murphy was deacon; Rev. Charles Rada, sub-deacon, Rex. John Prachar, master of ceremonies; And the sermon was given by Rev. Alphonse Lisko, Rev. Edward Ko-lar assisted at the cemetery. Also present at the mass were Rt. Rev Msgr. Frank Kopecky of Bruno, Rt. Rev. Msgr. V. P. Mlejnek Appleton, Rev. Frank Oborny of Dodge and Rev Ernest Sloup of David City. The pallbearers were John Engler, Joe Hottovy, Fred Kozisek, Ivan Urbanek, Joe Fiala and Steve Pohl. Burial was in the Catholic cemetery at David City. Alexander Pohl, son of Mr. and Mrs. James Pohl, was born Feb. 27, 1901, at Bruno. He was educated in the David City schools and graduated from high school in 1918. Until his illness he was employed in the First National Bank. He was a member of the Knights of Columbus. He was married Nov. 20, 1923, at David City to Emma Brym. To this union were born three children, Rev Daniel Pohl of Lincoln, Mrs. Evan Drozda of Schuyler and Raymond Pohl of David City. In addition to his parents, wife and children, he is survived by four brothers, John of Bruno, Edward of Chapman, James Jr. of Norristown, Pa., and Andrew of Imperial Beach, California, and by four sisters, Sr. M. Gerard (Martha) of Dodge, Sr. M. Majella (Katherine) of Dwight, Sr. M. Juliana (Mary) of Prague and Mrs. Edwin Hinesh (Genevieve) of Monterey, California. He was preceded in death by one brother, Raymond. Relatives from Omaha. Grand Island, Gothenburg, Seward, Broken Bow, Dwight, Brainard, Bruno and Ulysses attended the funeral.
