EDWARD POHL Chapman, Edward T. Pohl, 66, a farmer of the Chapman community, died Wednesday evening in a Grand Island hospital. He had been critically ill the last five days. The family home is on the farm near Chapman. Funeral rites will be held at 10 a.m. Saturday in St. Mary's Cathedral. A funeral mass will be offered by the Rev. Robert Karnish. lnterment will be in a local cemetery. The rosary will be recited at 8 Friday evening in the chapel of the Livingston Sondermann Funeral Home. Visitations may be made from 4 to 9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home. Mr. Pohl was a lifetime resident of Nebraska. He was born March 10, 1905, at Bruno to Mr. and Mrs. James Pohl. He received his schooling and grew to manhood in the community. When he was 21, he came to the Chapman community to farm. He and Miss Bridgett M. Hinesh were married June 13. 1933, at Central City. Mr. and Mrs. Pohl began their home on their present farm near Chapman. Mr. Pohl was general farmer and stockman and was active in the operation of the farm. He was a member of St Mary's Cathedral parish in Grand Island. Mr. Pohl is survived by his widow, two sons, James Pohl of Lincoln and Eugene Pohl of Papillion, two brothers, James Pohl of Bruno and Andrew Pohl of Omaha, four sisters. Sister Mary Gerard Pohl and Sister Mary Juliana Pohl, both of Omaha. Sister Mary Kathryn Pohl of Utica and Mrs. Genevieve Hinesh of Phoenix, Arizona, and five grandchildren. He was preceded in death by his parents, and three brothers, Raymond, Alexander and John Pohl. From the Grand Island Daily Independent, Grand Island, Nebraska, Friday, June 11, 1971.
