Bio

Bertha Virginia Myers, 92, was called home by her Heavenly Father Monday, Jan. 19, 2015, to be reunited with her beloved husband, David Ray Myers, to whom she was married for 47 years at the time of his death and her son, Alan Lynn Myers, who preceded her in death. She passed away peacefully in the presence of family members. Service: 11:30 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 24, 2015 in Greenwood Chapel. Interment: Greenwood Memorial Park. Memorials: In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Pipe Creek Community Church. Bertha was born July 6, 1922, in Franklin County, Pa. In 1945, Bertha and her husband relocated from Mercersburg, Pa., to Caracas, Venezuela, where they lived until 1962 when they moved to Fort Worth. In 2007, her last relocation was to Pipe Creek to be near her family. Bertha was a dedicated wife, mother, grandmother and friend who loved her Lord. Bertha was also preceded in death by her parents, Howard Bennett and Della Smith. Survivors: Sons, Robert R. Myers and wife, Karen, of Waycross, Ga., and David L. Myers and wife, Becky, of Pipe Creek; daughters, Carol A. Cobler and husband, Richard, of Pipe Creek, and Virginia K. Myers of Azle; daughter-in-law, Suzanne Myers of Azle; seven precious grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; and two great-great grandchildren.
