MARTINSBURG, W.Va. - Della G. Rockwell, 72, of 501 Berkeley Square, Apartment 2A, and formerly of 108 S. Main St., Mercersburg, Pa., died Sunday, Aug. 24, 1997, at City Hospital, Martinsburg. Born Dec. 6, 1924, in Lemasters, Pa., she was the daughter of the late H. Howard and Della Smith Bennett. Her husband, retired U.S. Army Master Sgt. Robert B. Rockwell, died in 1978. She moved to Martinsburg in 1973. She was formerly employed by Mercersburg Dress Factory for a number of years, and was last employed at Perfection Garments in Martinsburg, retiring in 1987. She was a member of First United Methodist Church in Mercersburg. She also was a member of Clarence Armstrong VFW Post 6241 Ladies Auxiliary in Mercersburg. She is survived by six sons, Larry G. Rockwell of Yakima, Wash., Gary L. Rockwell of Mercersburg, Robert E. Rockwell of Ellicott City, Md., Jeffrey Rockwell and Rodney J. Rockwell, both of Martinsburg, and Steven P. Rockwell of Aberdeen, Md.; two sisters, Bertha Myers of Fort Worth, Texas, and Ruth Butts of McConnellsburg, Pa.; three brothers, Wilton H. Bennett of Big Stone Gap, Va., Harry B. Bennett of Mercersburg, and Howard E. Bennett of Waynesboro; 15 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by three sisters and five brothers. Services will be held Thursday at 10 a.m. at Lininger-Fries Funeral Home, 47 N. Park Ave., Mercersburg. The Rev. Milton W. Benny Jr. will officiate. Burial will be in Arlington National Cemetery in Fort Myer, Va. A viewing will be held at the funeral home Wednesday from 7 to 9 p.m. Memorial donations may be made to City Hospital, Dry Run and Tavern Roads, Martinsburg, W.Va. 25401; or to the American Cancer Society, Franklin Unit, 452 E.
