Fort Bend Herald, June 1, 2015: Alma Steffek Martin, long-time resident of Richmond, Texas, passed away on May 29, 2015, in Livingston, Texas at the age of 89. She was born on June 1, 1925 in Sweetwater, Texas to John and Frances Skrovan Steffek. Alma was a 1943 graduate of Rosenberg High School. She worked as an administrative Assistant for NASA for 30 years. Alma was an avid reader and enjoyed gardening. She was an active member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Richmond. This loving mother, grandmother, sister and friend will truly be missed. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband, Robert Irving Martin; her sons, Arthur Jay Martin and Tommy Irving Martin; her grandson, Nathan Jay Martin; her brothers, Jerry, Victor, John, Edwin, and Emil Steffek; and her sisters, Christina Steffek, Marcella Steffek, Martha Schwettman, Cecilia Steffek, Mary Zwahr, and Loretta Whittington. Survivors include her daughter, Jessie Eichelman and husband, Neal; her son, Phillip Martin and wife, Mary Anne; her sister, Evelyn Skellie; her grandchildren, Bobby, Brandy, Chris, Johnathan, Jason, Rhett, Colleen, Amy, Lindsey, Amber, Holly, and Heather; along with numerous great-grandchildren, extended family, and friends. Visitation will be held from 8:00 a.m. until service time at 10:00 a.m., Wednesday, June 3, 2015, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, 507 S. 4th Street in Richmond, Texas. Father Joe Templado and Deacon Don Ries will officiate the service. Burial will follow at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Pallbearers will include Phillip Martin, Chris Cortemelia, Hayden Cross, Gabe Merritt, Mark Schwettman, Michael Schwettman, Jason Steffek, and Chris Cross. Honorary pallbearers will include Bobby Cross and Johnathan Eichelman. For those wishing, memorials may be made in Alma's name to the Alzheimer's Association, Houston & Southeast Chapter, 2242 W.
