Bio

Herald Coaster, July 12, 1962: A former resident of Needville, Mrs. Martha Louise Steffek Schwettmann, 37, of Bellaire, passed away Thursday night following a long illness. Services were held Saturday, July 7, from the Holy Ghost Catholic Church of Bellaire. Interment was made in the Forest Park Cemetery on Westheimer in Houston. Mrs. Schwettmann is survived by her husband, Ed, of Bellaire; two sons, Michael and Marc of Bellaire; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. John Steffek of Needville; four brothers, Jerry of Needville, John of Lake Jackson, Victor of El Campo, and Emil of Freeport; six sisters, Mrs. Mary Zwahr of Fairchild, Misses Marcella and Cecilia Steffek, Mrs. Alma Martin, Mrs. Evelyn Skellie, and Mrs. Loretta Whittington, all of Houston. Earthman Funeral Home had charge of funeral arrangements.
