Fort Bend Herald, November 3, 2005: Cecilia (Ceil) Frances Steffek, beloved sister and aunt, passed away Oct. 30, 2005 after a lengthy illness. She was born to Frances and John Steffek in Dubina, and spent most of her childhood in Needville where her parents and eleven brothers and sisters settled. After high school graduation, she moved to Houston to attend Massey Business School and the University of Houston. She worked as a secretary for Southern Pacific Railroad, Schlumberger and Schlumberger Limited and spent the majority of her career as senior executive secretary for El Paso Natural Gas Company. Ceil was a long-standing member of Saint Michael's Catholic Church in Houston. She will be remembered for her sharp wit and memory, personal sense of style and her giving nature. She is preceded in death by her parents; and sisters Marcella Steffek, Martha Schwettmann, Christina Steffek; and brothers, Edwin Steffek, Emil Steffek, and Victor Steffek. She is survived by her brothers, John Steffek, and Jerry Steffek and wife, Lillian Steffek, of Needville; and sisters, Mary Zwahr of Needville, Alma Martin of Richmond, Evelyn Skellie and her husband, Al, and Loretta Whittington and her husband, Dale Whittington, all of Houston. She is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews. A celebration of Cecilia's life will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 3, 2005, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Chapel in Rosenberg, with the Rev. James Ramsey officiating. Visitation will be from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 2, 2005, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Blvd., Rosenberg, 281-341-8800.
