Bio

Funeral services for Mrs. Mary Evelyn Streitmatter of Route One, Sparland, will be held in St. Patrick's church in Camp Grove Friday at 9 a.m. with Fr. Harold Prendergast officiating. Interment will be in the parish cemetery. Visitation will be in the Cox Memorial Home after 4 p.m. Thursday where the rosary will be recited at 8 p.m. Thursday. Mrs. Streitmatter, the widow of Stephen Streitmatter, died in St. Francis hospital in Peoria, at 12:45 p.m. Tuesday, April 29, 1958, after having been a patient there for three months. A daughter of Daniel and Sarah Colgan O'Brien, she was born in Saratoga township, Marshall county, Illinois. She grew up there and attended the local schools. She was united in marriage to Stephen Streitmatter February 14, 1928. He preceded her in death in July 1957. She is survived by three daughters, Marilyn of Peoria, Mrs. Mauretta Burlett of Peoria, and Dorenn at home; a son, Paul, at home; one granddaughter; her mother, Mrs. Sarah O'Brien of Campy Grove; and two brothers, Lawrence of Camp Grove and Arthur of Henry. She was preceded in death by her husband; her father; a son, Delbert; and a sister, Lanore O'Brien. She was a member of St. Patrick's church in Camp Grove and of St. Patrick's Altar and Rosary society. Wyoming Post Herald, April 30, 1958. Obituary transcribed and submitted by Ethel .
