John Matus Of Dallas Dies; Rites Held Mon. John Medard Matus, 61, of Dallas died Saturday, July 1, in a Dallas hospital. Rosary was recited at 5:30 p.m. Sunday at Jerome Crane Funeral Chapel. Requiem mass was celebrated at St. Augustine Church in Dallas with Rev. Joseph Nelson and Rev. William Hoover officiating. Interment was at Calvary Hill. Mr. Matus was born in Brooken and had farmed in the Tours-Hoen area before moving to Dallas in 1941. He married the former Irene Hlavenka of Tours. Survivors include his wife, one son, Ronnie John Matus of Ft. Worth; two daughters, Mrs. Louis (Betty) Pekar of Amarillo and Mrs. Eugene (Mary Ann) Krajca of Dallas; one brother, Ed Matus of Tours; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Skopik of Lake Tawakoni, Mrs. Rosie Filer of Bellmead and Josephine Matus of Lancaster; his mother-in-law, Mrs. Mary Hlavenka of Irving and 8 grandchildren.
