According to death certificate he was the son of John Matus and Jenne Kahanek. He was buried on May 7, 1975. ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ Tours Man Accidentally Electrocuted Edward L. Matus, 60, of Tours, was killed Monday afternoon when he was accidentally electrocuted at his home. Rosary was recited Tuesday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Mass of Christian burial was celebrated Wednesday at 10 a.m. at St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, Rev. Victor Goertz as celebrant. Burial followed in St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Mr. Matus was born in Hill County and had lived in the area of West and Tours all his life. He was employed with the Economic Laboratories in Waco and was also a farmer. He was a member of St. Martin's Catholic Church in Tours, the St. Martin's Society, and KJT Society of Tours. Survivors include his wife, Wilma; three sons, Edward Matus of Elm Mott, Larry Matus and David Matus, both of Tours; two daughters, Francis Matus of Pryor, Okla., and Katherine Matus of Tours; three sisters, Mrs. Mary Skopik of West, Mrs. Rosie Filer of 2103 Montrose in Bellmead and Miss Josephine Matus of Dallas; two grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Freddie Uptmore, Bob Wright, Ronnie Matus, Edward Podsednik, Louis Skopik, and George Hubik.
