McCASHLAND, IVAN LESLIE—Ivan Leslie McCashland, youngest son of the late Conrad and Cynthia McCashland, was born at Grafton, Neb., December 3, 1893. He departed this life at his home in Geneva, September 9, 1956. He was married to Lucia Kretke, April 15, 1918, and to this union was born one son, Ben. Lucia passed away April 27, 1928. July 5, 1931, he married Lorine Griffin. Survivors are his wife and son, daughter-in-law, three grandchildren, one sister, Mrs. Ethel Pickerill of Geneva, and two brothers, James of Carleton and Walter of Chugwater, Wyo. Ivan was a veteran of World War I. He was wounded in the St. Mihiel Drive and after his discharge from the hospital; he served in the army of occupation in Germany. He was a mason by trade and spent most of his life in or around Geneva. He leaves many fine homes and business buildings as evidence of his skill as a craftsman. Funeral services were held at the Hrubesky-Farmer funeral home in Geneva at 2 p. m., Tuesday, September 11. Rev. L. E. Werner officiated. Ralph Reemts, accompanied by Mrs. Willard Foster, sang "Old Rugged Cross" and "Beyond the Sunset." Pallbearers were Frank Brower, William Garrett, Robert Kiester, Ed McCluskey, W. A. Stoldorf and Reno Weis. Interment was in the Geneva cemetery. The Nebraska Signal September 20th, 1956 page 9.
