Mrs. Lucia Kretke McCashland was born in Geneva, Neb., December 11, 1895. She was called to her reward at 1 o’clock a.m., Friday, April 27, 1928, aged 32 years, 4 months and 16 days. Mrs. Lucia Kretke McCashland was the eldest daughter of Mrs. Eliza Kretke Hafer. She was born at Geneva, Neb., and christened at the Evangelical Church in Momence Township, where she spent her early childhood. She later moved with her parents to Milwaukee, Wis., where she lived twelve years. At the age of fourteen, she joined the Episcopal Church of Geneva, retaining her membership there until her departure. She was a member of the Degree of Honor lodge of Geneva. Mrs. McCashland was graduated from the Geneva high school in 1914. She was married to Ivan McCashland of Geneva, Neb., April, 1918. To this union was born one child, Benjamin William, aged seven years. Mrs. McCashland was a loyal and true mother and parent and a devoted wife. She leaves to mourn their loss, her husband, Ivan McCashland; one son, Benjamin William; her mother, Mrs. Eliza Kretke Hafer of Lincoln, Neb.; one sister, Mrs. Ruth Sullivan of Denver, Col.; one brother, William of Lincoln, Neb.; and other relatives and many friends. The funeral took place from Trinity Episcopal Church in Geneva at 2:30 p.m. Sunday and was conducted by Rev. David Tudor, pastor of the Geneva Congregational Church.
