McCASHLAND, JAMES RAY—James Ray McCashland was born near Grafton, Neb., June 15, 1889, the son of B. C. McCashland and his wife, Cynthia L. Myers. He departed this life June 28, 1963, at the Thayer County Memorial Hospital in Hebron, Neb. He spent his early years on his father’s farm near Grafton and with the exception of seven years in Wyoming, the rest of his life was spent near Carleton. His early education was obtained in the rural school situated on his father’s farm. Later he attended the Gem City Business College in Quincy, Ill. He was married April 30, 1911, to Fannie D. Ogg in Geneva, Neb. Preceding him in death were his parents, two sisters and four brothers. Survivors include his wife, Fannie; a daughter, Elizabeth Large of Cheyenne, Wyo.; one brother, Walter H. McCashland of Chugwater, Wyo.; many nieces and nephews. He was a member of the Methodist Church of Carleton and of Gavel Lodge No. 199 A. F. and A. M. of Carleton.
