Bio

Anton and Ella (Codr) Hotovy Anton Hotovy, son of John and Mary (Mikuls) Hotovy, was born in Butler County June 13, 1895. He maried Gabriella (Ella) Codr, daughter of John B. and Gabriella (Racicky) Codr who was born March 24, 1897, also in Butler County. They were married in the Assumption Church in Dwight, February 25, 1919 by Fr. Michael Pazourek. Anton had six brothers, and three sisters: Frank, Jim, Cyril, Jake, Fr. John, Fred, Emma, Mary (Sr. Bernadette OSU) and Caroline (Sr. Immaculata OSU). Ella had eight brothers and two sisters, John (died in infancy), Alois, Jim, Rudolph, Adolph, John, Lee, Emmanuel, Mary and Josephine. Anton farmed and Ella taught school. After they married they lived on a farm three miles north and one mile west of Dwight, which is now the present home of Alois and Marie Hottovy. They had six children; Alois, Anthony, Marie, Georgia, Raymond and Ivan. Anton died in 1949 at the age of 54. Ella died in 1950 at the age of 53.
