The Banner-Press (David City, Nebraska) 28 Nov 2002, Thu Page 8 Ivan Hottovy LINCOLN - Ivan Adolph Hottovy, 68, of Lincoln, formerly of Dwight, died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, in Sargent. Mr. Hottovy was born June 15, 1934, at Brainard to Anton and Ella (Codr) Hottovy. [sic] He attended school in Dwight and was a 1952 graduate of Assumption High School. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War. He married Margaret Houdek. He was a civil engineer with the state of Nebraska for many years, living in Lincoln since 1985. He was a member of St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Lincoln and a former member of Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight. He leaves his sons and daughters-in-law, Allan and Ann Hottovy of Algonquin, Ill., Michael and Deb Hottovy of Geneva, Ohio, Terry Hottovy of Lincoln and Randall and Christine Hottovy of Elgin, Ill.; daughters and sons-in-law, Toni and Robert Martinez of North Platte and Jackie and Josh Whisler of Peru, seven grandchildren; one great-grandson; brothers and sisters-in-law, Alois and Marie Hottovy of Brainard and Anthony, Sr., of Dwight; sister, Marie Snyder of Greeley, Colo.; and sister-in-law, Francie Hottovy of Valparaiso. he was preceded in death by his parents; his wife in 1959; brother, Ray Hottovy; sister and brother-in-law, Georgia E. and Albert Hain, Sr.; and brother-in-law, Robert Snyder. Services were held Saturday, Nov. 23, at Assumption Catholic Church. Burial was at the parish cemetery with military honors by Dwight American Legion Post 110. Arrangements were made by Wood-Zabka Funeral Home of Seward.
