Alois James Hottovy was born January 9, 1920 in Dwight, Nebraska to Anton M. and Gabriella A. (Codr) Hottovy and died November 6, 2007 in David City, Nebraska. Alois was a 1937 graduate of St. Mary's High School in Dwight, Nebraska. He married Marie Pavel May 5, 1942 at St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Utica. Theyhad four children. Alois was a lifelong farmer and a member of the American Angus Association. Other memberships included Assumption Catholic Church in Dwight, East Butler School Board, Plum Creek Township Board and a leader for the Plum Creek 4-H Club. Alois was preceded in death by his parents, Anton and Gabriella Hottovy; sons, Michael and Jerome Jerry Hottovy; daughter-in-law, Dottie Hottovy; great-granddaughter, Anna Rose Prochaska; brothers, Raymond and Ivan Hottovy; sister and brother-in-law, Georgia and Albert Hain.
