Herald Coaster, May 24, 1987: Funeral services for Vojt J. Stavinoha, 69, of Fairchilds, were Saturday morning at St. Michael's Church in Needville. Burial was at St. Michael's Church Cemetery. Mr. Stavinoha died late Thursday at Polly Ryon Memorial Hospital in Richmond. He married Louise Vacek Oct. 26, 1917. The Stavinoha's were married for 48 years before Mrs. Stavinoha preceded him in death on Sept. 28, 1986. Survivors include three sons, Lawrence Stavinoha of Richmond, Albert Stavinoha and Leroy Stavinoha, both of Needville; four daughters, Hellen Nordt of Damon, Bernadette Dodge of Needville, Lou Jean Izard of Alvin, and Denise Sbrusch of Fairchilds; three brothers, Lad Stavinoha of Needville, Al Stavinoha of Rosenberg, and Evan Stavinoha of Fairchilds; three sisters, Mary Gurecky of Rosenberg, Viola Hundl of Rosenberg, and Eleanora Van Ruden of Rosenberg; 15 grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Funeral arrangements were under the direction of Davis-Dawson Funeral Home of Needville.
