Herald Coaster, March 14, 2000: Funeral services for Mary E. Gurecky, 90, of Rosenberg, will be held at 10 a.m. Wednesday, March 15, at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Visitation will begin at 3 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Boulevard (FM 2218 and Highway 59) in Rosenberg. A rosary service will be held at 7 p.m. Tuesday, March 14, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. Father Don Schwarting will officiate the services. Mary was born May 25, 1909 in Ammannsville, Fayette County, to Vojt Stavinoha and Olga Vacek Stavinoha. She passed away March 12, 2000 in Richmond. She was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church, Catholic Daughters, and KJZT. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joe J. Gurecky; son, Laddie Gurecky; son-in-law, Al Kulcak; parents, Vojt and Olga Stavinoha; and brothers, Joseph, Arnold, Ivan, Vojt, Lad, and Al Stavinoha. She is survived by daughters, Emma Kulcak and her husband, Jerry, of Rosenberg and Olga Marie Kulcak of Richmond; sons, Leonard Gurecky and his wife, Evelyn, and Major Joe M. Gurecky and his wife, Doris all of Rosenberg; daughter-in-law, Virginia Gurecky of Richmond; sisters, Viola Hundl and her husband, Henry, and Eleanor Ernest, all of Rosenberg; sisters-in-law, Frances Stavinoha of Needville, Clara Stavinoha of Rosenberg, and Louise Orsak and Sophie Gurecky, both of Bay City; 15 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; one step-great-granddaughter; and numerous nieces and nephews.
