Herald Coaster, October 27, 1995: Funeral services for Alphonse B. Stavinoha, age 81, of Rosenberg, will be held on Saturday, October 28, 1995, at 10 a.m. at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg, with interment following at Greenlawn Memorial Park in Rosenberg. Father Dan Warden will officiate at the services. Deacon David Mitchell will conduct a rosary service on Friday, Otober 27, at 7:30 p.m. at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg. He was born on August 25, 1914 in Fairchilds, and he passed away on October 25, 1995 in Richmond. He was retired form Dow Chemical and he was a member of Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. He was preceded in death by his daughters, Marjorie Stavinoha and Jane Hardy; his parents, Vojt and Olga Stavinoha; and brothers, Lad Stavinoha, Arnold Stavinoha, and Vojt Stavinoha, Jr. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Clara Stavinoha of Rosenberg; a granddaughter, Laura Hardy of Houston; a son-in-law, Gary Hardy of Houston; sisters, Mary Gurecky of Rosenberg, Viola Hundl of Rosenberg, and Eleanor Ernest of Rosenberg; and a brother, Ivan Stavinoha of Rosenberg. Pallbearers are Leroy Stavinoha, Leonard Gurecky, Michael Hundl, Tommy Stavinoha, Dennis Stavinoha, and Gary Hardy. Honorary pallbearers are Ruben and Jason Koeppen. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Holy Rosary Catholic Church "Keep the Vision Alive" Fund, 1416 George Street, Rosenberg, TX 77471. Friends may call from 3 p.m. to 9 p.m. on Friday, October 27, at Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home, 3900 B.F. Terry Boulevard (FM-2218 and Hwy. 59) in Rosenberg. On Saturday, October 28, from 9 a.m. to service time, visitation will also be held at Holy Rosary Catholic Church in Rosenberg. Funeral arrangements are under the direction of Davis-Greenlawn Funeral Home in Rosenberg, telephone 341-8800.
