Snyder, 89 Former Arlington resident Helen H. Snyder, 89, of Fremont, died Monday, April 26, 2004, at the A.J. Merrick Manor in Fremont. Funeral services were April 29, at Moser Memorial Chapel in Fremont, with Father Damien Cook of St. Patrick's Catholic Church officiating. Interment was in Ridge Cemetery in Fremont. Helen H. Snyder was born April 13, 1915, in rural Morse Bluff to Vaclav and Otilie (Veverka) Eckstein. She grew up and lived on a farm west of Morse Bluff, and lived there until her marriage on April 18, 1933, to Nye Snyder in Fremont. The couple lived in Central City, Valley, Arlington and Tekamah before moving to Fremont in 1971. Mrs. Snyder was a caregiver for several years in private homes. Mrs. Snyder is survived by two sons and daughters-in-law, Anton and Margaret Snyder of Blair, and Nye and Jan Snyder Jr. of Fremont; three daughters and sons-in-law Marian and Norman Rohloff of Fremont, Ameliea and Elmer Melroy of Ames, and Leona and James Watson of Fremont; daughter-in-law, Mary Snyder of Fremont; 18 grandchildren, many great-grandchildren, and several great-great-grandchildren; three brothers and a sister-in-law, Alvin Eckstein of Morse Bluff, and Anton and Joan Eckstein, also of Linwood; and a sister, Marie Pawling, of Fremont. She was preceded in death by her husband, Nye; a daughter and son-in-law, Helen and Virgil Jacobs; son, James Snyder; six brothers, Adolph, Ludvick, Joseph, Emil, Michael and James Eckstein; and three sisters, Agnes Wilson, Otilie and Rose Eckstein.
