Anton Eckstein, 87 The funeral for Anton Eckstein, 87, of Linwood was held Friday at Svoboda Funeral Home North Chapel in Schuyler. He died July 4, 2011, at Fremont Area Medical Center. He was born July 1, 1924, in the Morse Bluff area of Saunders County to Vaclav and Otillia (Werverka) Eckstein. He attended rural school in Saunders County and graduated from North Bend High School in 1943. He married Joan Toman on Sept. 26, 1958, in Fremont and farmed in the Linwood area until he retired in 2009. Survivors include: his wife, Joan of Linwood; daughters, Tillie Eckstein of Genoa and Cindy (Mark) Madsen of Linwood; son, Frank; and three grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a son, eight brothers and five sisters. Burial was in Killian Hill Cemetery at Morse Bluff.
