Bio

1993 Fuchs Family Newsletter # 9, page 5, column 1 "In Remembrance of Monica Schott" OSCEOLA -- Monica F. Schott , 92, of Schuyler, formerly of Osceola, died Sunday, July 25, 1993, at Schuyler Nursing Center. Funeral services were Wednesday at St. Vincent's Catholic Church in Osceola with the Rev. Peter Gadient officiating. Burial is in Osceola Cemetery. Visitation is until 6 p.m. today at Kepner-Roberts Funeral Home in Osceola and continuing at 7 p.m. until the 8 p.m. rosary at the church. Mrs. Schott was born May 4, 1901, in Pierce to Florian and Johanna (Widhalm) Fuchs. She attended Wayne State Teachers College for two years. She married Joseph Schott on June 20, 1922, in Pierce and lived the majority of her life in Osceola. She was a member of the Maple Leaf Club, Legion of Mary, and a past president of B.C.C.W. She was also a member of St. Vincent's Catholic Church and St. Vincent's Altar Society. Survivors include two sons, Raymond and John, both of Osceola; three daughters, Genevieve Hilliard of Dallas, Valeria Theisen of Schuyler, and Anne Marie Shehee of Plano, Texas; 20 grandchildren; and 22 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1961, four brothers and seven sisters. 1993 Fuchs Family Newsletter # 9, page 5, column 1 A TRIBUTE TO AUNT MONICA On July 25, 1993, the last of the children of Florian and Johanna Fuchs, Monica (Fuchs) Schott, passed away. Thus ended one era which is passed on to the next generation. She lives on in her children and grandchildren. Aunt Monica will be remembered as one of the most vivacious and energetic of her siblings. She was vitally interested in family affairs and liked to hear about the happenings in their lives. As I remember her, she loved music, as did her father Florian, and she loved to dance. It was said that she was a favorite in the eyes of Florian and in her younger days she was a true beauty with her dark hair and sparkling eyes. Aunt Monica took great pride in her home both in the country and in town. It was always a pleasure to visit there and the food was worth mentioning. I also remember her many visits to our house to see Grandma Fuchs when she lived with us. Aunt Monica has a birth date coming on May 4. It would be most appropriate if you would remember her especially on that day in your prayers. 1993 Fuchs Family Newsletter, page 5, column 2 Memorial Pamphlet In Loving Memory of Monica F.
