1946 Pierce County Leader, Pierce, Nebraska, Thursday, March 7, 1946, page 1 John Fuchs Dies in Wyoming John Fuchs, 51 [50], died in his sleep Tuesday night on a ranch near Casper, Wyoming, where he was employed. He was here about three weeks ago to visit his aged mother, Mrs. Johanna Fuchs, and the telegram came as a shock to relatives here. Besides his mother he is survived by one son [brother], Michieal [Michael] Fuchs of Pierce; eight sisters, Mrs. Reinhold [Reinhard] Ronspies of Pierce; Mrs. John Promes of Bow Valley, Nebraska; Mrs. Herman Sudbeck of Hartington, Nebraska; Mrs. William Haschke of Norfolk, Nebraska; Mrs. George Hahn Jr. of Albion, Nebraska; Mrs. Joe Schott of Osceola, Nebraska; Mrs. Quentin Clark of Oshkosh, Nebraska; and Mrs. Edwin Fricke of Los Angeles, California. Funeral rites will be held Monday morning at 10 am in St. Joseph's Catholic church. 1946 Pierce County Leader, Pierce, Nebraska, Thursday, March 14, 1946, page 1 LAST RITES FOR JOHN V. FUCHS Funeral services for John V. Fuchs, who passed away Tuesday morning, March 5, at Casper, Wyoming, were held Monday morning at 10 o'clock at St. Joseph's Catholic church in Pierce with The Rev. Father Mines officiating at the Requiem High Mass for the repose of his soul. The remains were interred in the parish cemetery. Pallbearers were Francis Wagner, Frank Grunberger, Joseph Polt, Ed Widhalm, Andrew Hoffman and James Tomek. John V. Fuchs, son of Mrs. Johanna Fuchs and the late Florian Fuchs, was born on July 8, 1896 [1895], on a farm in Pierce county. He received his education in the St. Joseph parochial school. For the past 15 years he had been working at Casper, Wyoming on a ranch. He is survived by his aged mother, Mrs. Johanna Fuchs of this city, one brother and eight sisters.
