1981 Mrs. Ronspies Taken by Death Mrs. Reinhard (Julianna) Ronspies, 84, passed away Sunday, March 22, 1981 at Pierce manor. Last rites were held Wednesday morning, March 25 at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierce with Father James Novotny officiating. Burial was in St. Joseph Cemetery with James Barlow, Thomas Barlow, Mike Ronspies, Patrick Ronspies, Russell Ronspies and Randall Ronspies as pallbearers. Julianna Victoria Fuchs was born February 14, 1897 on a farm southwest of Pierce, daughter of the late Florian Fuchs and Johanna Widhalm. She attended St. Joseph Catholic School and Wayne State College. She taught school in District 80 of Pierce county before her marriage. May 18, 1920 she was united in marriage to Reinhard Ronspies at St. Joseph's Church in Pierce. They farmed in the Pierce area until 1969 when they retired to Pierce. They held observances on the occasion of their 50th and 60th wedding anniversaries. Mrs. Ronspies was active in church work and was a member of the Christian Mothers Society, Legion of Mary and St. Joseph Altar Society. She is survived by her husband; three sons, Will, Eugene and Dennis of rural Pierce; three daughters, Mrs. Gerald (Mildred) Hish of Redding California, Mrs. Alvin (Marianne) Barlow, Broomfield, Colorado, and Mrs. Donald (Julie) Blotz, Byron, California; 30 grandchildren; four great-grandchildren; three sisters, Mrs. Elizabeth Hahn of Albion, Nebraska, Mrs. Monica Schott of Osceola, Nebraska, and Mrs. Quentin (Cecelia) Clark of Kingman, Arizona. Preceding her in death were her parents; a son Arlyn who died at the age of four; four sisters, Mary, Joann, Frances and Ann and four brothers, John, Mike, Florian, and Frank Fuchs. Out of state relatives here to attend the funeral of Mrs. Julianna Ronspies were Mrs. Gerald Hish of Palo Cedro, California, Mrs. Don Blotz of Bryon, California, Mr. and Mrs. Alvin Barlow and family of Broomfield, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Leo Ronspies and family of Armour, South Dakota, Mr. and Mrs. Ed Topf of Bella Vista, Arkansas, Mr. and Mrs. Gus Widhalm and Amy of Hugo, Colorado, Joan Widhalm of Denver, Colorado, Mr. and Mrs. Nick Lehnerz, and Joe Lehnerz of Monte Vista,Colorado. Deaths We thank the family of Julianna Ronspies and Father Novotny for sharing the prayer service in the Chapel on Tuesday evening; We, too, experienced a loss and took comfort in the service.
