Emily [Emma] Jane Phillips was born 4 November 1850 in Greenville, Greenville County, South Carolina. She was 8th of the 10 children born to Stephen B. Phillips Jr. (1810-1898) and Juliet Hawkins Phillips (1813-1891). Siblings: John Wesley Phillips (1832-1904), Susan Catharine Phillips [Burk] (1834-1914), Mary Elizabeth Phillips [Mitchell] (1837-1858), Edward Stephen Phillips (1839-1922), William Theador Phillips (1842-1921), Sarah Sopshire Phillips [Chesnutt] (1845-1918), Caroline Sophrona Phillips [Meyers] (1845-1903), George Washington Phillips (1853-1925) and Robert Perry Phillips (1856-1939). She married Hilliard Judge Fowler in 1868. They were the parents of Leon [Onnie] Fowler (1868-1940), Robert Perry Fowler (1871-1932), John Wesley Fowler (1873-1941), Daisy Pearl Fowler [Jeffus/Greenwood] (1876-1956), Claude Fowler (1877-1903), Joseph Stephen Fowler (1879-1952), Edward F. Fowler (1881-1951), Judge Fowler (1883-1943), Sarah Julia Fowler [Patterson] (1886-1955), Clayton Willie Fowler (1889-1940) Hugh Fowler (1891-1966) and Minnie Fowler (1893-). Emily died at the age of 43 years on 23 November 1893 in Ringgold, Georgia USA. Possibly died giving birth to her last child Minnie. Unsure that this is the correct cemetery for Emily.
