Ennis, Texas, Sept. 1 - Jospeh Stephen Fowler, 72, died at his home in Ennis, Route 2, Sunday morning. He had lived near Ennis for fifty-eight years. He was a member of the Antioch Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife of Ennis, the former Jane Floyd of Bardwell; four sons, E. J. Fowler of Houston, Claude Fowler of Ennis, Alton Fowler of Corsicana, and Ray Fowler of Waco; three daughters, Mrs. Tommy Steele of Avalon, Ellis County; Mrs. Morris Kirby of Chatfield, Navarro County; and Mrs. Leon Chenault of Waco; one brother, Hugh Fowler of Matthew, Mo.; two sisters, Mrs. Ed Patterson of Ensign, Ellis County; and Mrs. Pearl Greenwood of Richmond, Calif. Services were held at the Bunch Funeral Chapel in Ennis Monday at 10 a. m. with the Rev. H. H. McCollum officiating, assisted by the Rev. Orbie Lamb. Burial will be in Myrtle Cemetery, Ennis.
