John A. Divin, 82, of Arlington, a native of West, died Friday, January 5, 1990 at the V.F.W. Medical Center in Grand Prairie. Rosary was recited at 6 p.m. January 7 at Marshall and Marshall Funeral Home Chapel in Hillsboro. Mass of Christian burial was held at 10:30 a.m. Monday at Our Lady of Mercy Catholic Church in Hillsboro, the Rev. Alfred J. Lafleur officiating. Burial was in Our Lady of Fatima Cemetery in Abbott. Mr. Divin was born Jan. 15, 1907 in West and had lived in Itasca most of his life. He married Rosa Lee Urbanovsky in 1930; she died in November 1982. He was a retired farmer, a member of the KJT Order in West and a Catholic. Survivors include two sons, Johnny S. Divin of Balch Springs and Willie E. Divin of Ennis; two daughters, Helen Sulak of Arlington and Emily Minor of Dallas; a brother, Adolph Divin of Garland; four sisters, Rosie Smajstria of Hillsboro, Mary Sulak of Marlin, Annie Karlik of West and Frances Laird of Arlington; 14 grandchildren; and eight great-grandchildren.
