Johnny was the son of John and Rosie Urbanovsky Divin. He grew up in the West and Itasca, Texas, area and graduated from Itasca High School in 1955. On October 22, 1956, he married Lillian Cepak, and they made their home in Dallas. He worked for Western Electric, AT&T, and Lucent Technology before retiring in 1998. Johnny was a charter member of Divine Mercy of Our Lord Catholic Church in Mesquite. He was an accomplished accordion player who loved Czech music and dancing polkas and waltzes with his wife. He loved the outdoors and working in his garden, and he especially enjoyed playing the Czech card game Taroky. At the time of his death Johnny was a resident of Balch Springs, Dallas County, Texas. Johnny was preceded in death by his daughter, Linda Divin; his parents; sister, Helen Sulak; and brother, Willie Gene Divin. He was survived by his wife, Lillian Divin; sons, Johnny M. Divin and Stephen Divin; sister, Emily Minor; and aunt, Frances Lair. Johnny was also survived by several brothers-in-law, sisters-in-law, nieces, nephews, and cousins.
