Bio

She was the daughter of Thomas and Sylvia (Breeding) Hurst. She was married about 1821, in Claiborne County, Tennessee, to James Pittman. He died in 1834 leaving her with six daughters and a son to raise. By the time of the 1850 census, she had in her household, daughter, Martha Emeline, son-in-law George W. Allen and their year old baby, and youngest daughter Louisa. Her real estate was valued at $200.00 and George was said to be a stage driver. She died of typhoid fever late in 1859.
