William Marion Burk was born 28 January 1870 in Bristol, Ellis County, Texas, USA. He was 4th of the 7 children born to James Marion Burk (1833 - 1900) and Susan Catharine Phillips Burk (1834 - 1914). Siblings: Mary Jane Burk Wright (1855 - 1939), Sarah A. Burk (1858-?), James Frank Burk (1861 - 1931), Robert [Bob] Perry Burk (1874 - 1944) and Samuel Houston Burk (1875 - 1930), Thomas Jefferson Burk (1880-1960. He married Florence Fredonia Maxey Wilson. They were the parents of William Arthur Burk (1892-1913), Artie Lee Burk [Childers] (1893-1933), Etta Henrietta Burk [Spurgeon] (1896-1963), Walter Jackson Burk (1899-1905), James Alex Burk (1902-1965) and Lillie Clifton Burk [Endler] (1907-1994). Florence had been married before and she had a daughter, Della Fredonia Wilson McCormick (1888-1980). William died 19 November 1941 in Bristol, Ellis County,Texas, USA and is buried in the Bristol Cemetery.
