Bio

Marianne Ronspies was born to Julia and Reinhard Ronspies in Pierce, Nebraska on January 25, 1929. She was married on June 8, 1954 to Alvin M. Barlow at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Pierce. Marianne was a resident of Broomfield, Colorado and member of Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church since 1969. She passed away April 15, 2013 at Juniper Village in Louisville, Boulder County, Colorado. She was 84 years ago. Marianne taught grade school for 44 years in Nebraska and Colorado. From 1972-1976 she was a parochial school teacher at Holy Cross in Thornton, Colorado and from 1977-1994 she taught at Blessed Sacrament in Denver, Colorado. She loved traveling and spending time with her family. In the early 1990's she started The Ronspies Family Reunion which became very popular throughout the years. She also spent many years volunteering to coach Colorado Spelling Bee students at Blessed Sacrament. Her favorite annual trip was to Hawaii to visit her daughter, Lynn. She also loved day trips to Blackhawk and Central City for gambling and sightseeing. Survivors include: her daughter; 3 sons; 5 grandchildren; 2 sisters; and 1 brother. Predeceased by her spouse Alvin Barlow and daughter Lynne (Barlow) Cosner formerly of Hawaii. Also, brothers and sister in-laws respectively, Wilfred (Alice) Ronspies and Eugene (Marilyn) Ronspies. The family would like to give special thanks to the Juniper Village of Louisville Colorado. Your special attention, respect, dignity and love for our Mother in her final years will never be forgotten. A catholic rosary will be held on Thursday, April 18, 2013 at 7:00 pm and the funeral services are on Friday April 19, 2013 at 11:00 am at Nativity of Our Lord Catholic Church in Broomfield, Colorado.
