Obituary published in the Herald Coaster on 25 Jan 1967. Zwahr, John Adolph Funeral services were held for John Adolph Zwahr, 64, of Fairchild at 3 p.m. Sunday at Garmany and Co. Chapel in Rosenberg. Rev. Carl E. Garner officiated. Mr. Zwahr passed away suddenly at the Polly Ryon Hospital Friday afternoon. Mr. Zwahr farmed near Fairchild. Among the survivors are his wife, Virginia C. Zwahr of Needville; two daughters, Ruby Ellen Long of Needville and Cora Leak Vavrecka of Richmond; a son, Lloyd Zwahr of Needville; one brother, August Zwahr of Needville; a sister, Mrs. Katie Nett of Needville, and one granddaughter and four grandsons. Burial was in the Seiler Cemetery near Fairchild, Funeral services were under the direction of Garmany and Co. Funeral Directors. Pallbearers were Louis Zwmanek, Louis Petrosky, Paul Sophak, Bill Bezency, Rayomnd Seiler, Henry Wetz, Milton Seiler, and Charlie Fishbeck.
