Joe A. Schroeder, 79, Dies; Rites Set For Friday Joe A. Schroeder, 79, of Tours, died at 12:45 a.m. Wednesday at his home. Rosary was recited at 7:30 p.m. Thursday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in West. Requiem mass will be celebrated at 10 a.m. today (Friday) at St. Martin’s Catholic Church in Tours, with Rev. Frank Miller as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Martin’s Cemetery. Mr. Schroeder was born in McLennan County and lived in the Tours area most of his life. He was a retired farmer and a member of St. Martin’s Catholic Church. Survivors include his wife; three sons, Clement Schroeder of Hallsburg, Frank Schroeder of Leroy and Jodie Schroeder of Route 2, West; one daughter, Mrs. Henry (Gertrude) Machac of Route 5, Waco; two brothers, Martin Schroeder of Route 2, West, and Adolph Schroeder of Castroville; 16 grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren. Pallbearers are Joe Schroeder, Jr., Richard Schroeder, Billy Ray Machac, Danny Machac, Bobby Soukup and William Dietrick.
