Bio

Martin L. Schroeder, 82, of Bellmead died Monday morning in a Waco hospital. Rosary was recited at 8 p.m., Wednesday at Kotch Funeral Home Chapel in Bellmead. Mass of Christian burial will be celebrated Thursday at 10 a.m. at St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead with Rev. George Tzanakas as celebrant. Burial will follow in St. Martin's Cemetery in Tours. Mr. Schroeder was born in Tours and lived in the Tours area all his life until moving to Bellmead about 18 months ago. He was a member of St. Joseph's Catholic Church in Bellmead and a retired farmer. Survivors include his wife, Agnes; four sons, Ben Schroeder of Ross, Martin B. Schroeder of 1025 Hamilton, Anton Schroeder of Lacy-Lakeview and John Schroeder of El Cajon, Calif.; three daughters, Mrs. O. C. Schuetz of 523 Crescent, Sister Olga Zotz of Harlingen and Sister Agnes Zotz of Natchez, La.; 22 grandchildren; and 26 great-grandchildren. Pallbearers were Andrew Schroeder, Walter Hennig, Edward Hennig, Frank Schroeder, Freddie Uptmore, and Alphonse Weinberger.
