Mrs. Annie R. Marek, 71, of West died Tuesday afternoon in a local hospital. Funeral services will be at 4 p.m. Thursday in the West Brethren Church, Rev. Henry Beseda officiating. Burial will be in the West Brethren Cemetery. Mrs. Marek was a native of Vernon. She was a longtime resident of the West area. She married Joe F. Marek Aug. 3, 1929, in West. Mr. Marek died Dec. 30, 1969. Mrs. Marek was a member of the West Brethren Church, of the Christian Sisters Organization of the West Brethren Church and of the SPJST Lodge No. 54 of West. Survivors include a son, Eugene Hromadka of Route 2, West; two daughters, Mrs. Joe C. (Elsie) Sulak of West and Mrs. Herman (Jo Ann) Matus of Route 2, West; seven sisters, Mrs. Millie Bailey and Mrs. Frances Barton, both of Waco, Mrs. Mary Hromadka, Mrs. Rosie Husak, Mrs. Sophie Ferguson, Mrs. Helen Marek and Mrs. Albina Middlebrook, all of West; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren. Aderhold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
