Wife to George Edward Ferguson. Mother to Edward Lee, Evelyn F., Georgie Lucille, and Charles William Ferguson. -------- Mrs. G. E. (Sophie) Ferguson, age 88, of West, passed away late Saturday evening, December 5, 1992 at West Community Hospital. Mass of Christian Burial was celebrated at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption with Rev. Ed Karasek as Celebrant. Burial followed in Bold Springs Cemetery near West. A rosary was recited at 7 p.m. Monday at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel by Msgr. George Doskocil. Mrs. Ferguson was born August 5, 1904 in Abbott, the daughter of Anton and Annie Koval. She married George Edward Ferguson August 25, 1924 in West. He preceded her in death on September 19, 1966. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the Catholic Daughters of America Court No. 829, the K.J.Z.T. Society No. 11, both in West, and the R.V.O.S. Lodge in Cottonwood. She was also a member of St. Marys Catholic Church of the Assumption. She is also preceded in death by one son, Edward Ferguson, who died January 24, 1954. She is survived by one son, Charles William Ferguson of West; two daughters, Mrs. Albin (Evelyn) Janek and Mrs. Bob (Lucille) Cervenka, both of Waco; two sisters, Rosie Husak and Mrs. Alphonse (Helen) Marek, both of West; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Bob Cervenka, Charles Janek, Danny Wright, Tony Ruetten, Bobby Middlebrook and James Middlebrook. Aderhold Funeral Home in West was in charge of arrangements.
