Mary Hromadka, age 90, of West, passed away late Tuesday evening, June 19, 1990 at West Community Hospital. Funeral services were held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the West Brethren Church with Rev. Lawrence Junek officiating. Burial followed in West Brethren Cemetery. Mrs. Hromadka was born January 21, 1900 in West, the daughter of Anton and Anna Koval. She married Josef Hromadka on November 23, 1920. He preceded her in death on June 19, 1956. She was a housewife and homemaker. She was a member of the West Brethren Church and a member of the Christian Sisters. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Irene Krizan who died November 16, 1974. Survivors include two sons Raymond Hromadka and Joe Hromadka, both of West, two daughters, Helen Ruetten of Elm Mott and Mary Ann White of Bellmead; four sisters, Rosie Husak, Sophie Ferguson, and Helen Marek, all of West, and Frances Barton of Waco; eleven grandchildren; twelve great-grandchildren; one great-great-grandchild; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers were Raymond Joe Hromadka, Jr., Larry Hromadka, David Ruetten, Gary Kinsey, Bennie Mynar, Jr., James Hromadka and Steven Lane. Aderhold Funeral Home was in charge of arrangements.
