Foit Funeral services for Joe R. Foit of Waco were held at 9:30 a.m. Thursday at the West Brethren Church with Rev. F. J. Kostohryz and Rev. John Bravenec officiating. Military graveside rites were conducted at West Brethren Cemetery. Mr. Foit died at 11:50 p.m. Monday in Temple VA Hospital. He had been ill for about two years. He was 51. Mr. Foit was a veteran of World War II and served in the European Theater with the 36th Division. He received the Purple Heart. Surviving are his wife, Josephine; his father, Joseph Foit of West; two sons, Ronald Foit and Gary Foit, both of Waco; one daughter, Janna Foit of Waco; two brothers, Willie Foit of Dallas and Robert Foit of Odessa; five sisters, Mrs. Lillian Foit of China Lake, Calif., Mrs. Helen Kudelka and Mrs. Anna Ruth Lovecky, both of West, Mrs. Dorothy Sihovajsa of Victoria, and Mrs. Pauline Barton of Waco. Pallbearers were his brothers-in-law, Albin A. Fojt, Edmund Kudelka, Ervin R. Barton, Steve Lovecky, John Schovajsa, Raymond Barton, Bob Tlustos, and Joe John Barton.
