Mrs. Albin (Lillian) Fojt, 78, of West, passed away early Saturday morning, April 19, 1997, at her residence. A prayer service will be held at 7 p.m., Sunday, at Aderhold Funeral Home Chapel. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Monday, at West Brethren Church, with the Rev. Don Ketcham and the Rev. Henry Beseda officiating. Burial will follow in West Brethren Cemetery. Lillian was born Oct. 13, 1918, in McLennan County, Texas, a few miles south of West, to the late Joseph and Carrie Foit. She attended Ross schools and graduated from West High School in 1936. Lillian then attended the University of Texas and taught school in Hill County until she married Albin A. Fojt on June 22, 1941, in West. She lived in Washington, D.C. where she worked for the U.S. Army for a brief time. In 1945, she moved to California where her husband was employed as a physicist at a Navy research center. After 30 years at China Lake, Calif., they retired and returned to West. Lillian had been a member of the West Brethren Church all her life, and became very active upon her return to West. She was the director of the choir and 17 years and a substitute organist and pianist; she worked in Sunday school and Bible school and was a very active member of the Christian Sisters. Lillian also was a member of the West Community Hospital Ladies Auxiliary. She is survived by her husband, Albin A. Fojt, of West; sons, Robert Fojt and his wife, Mary, of Berkeley, Calif., and Duane Fojt, of China Lake, Calif.; daughter, Pamela Kaye and her husband, William, of Matinez, Calif.; brother, Robert D. Foit, of Dallas; sisters: Helen Kudelka, Pauline Barton and Anna Ruth Lovecky, all of West, and Dorothy Schovajsa of Inez; sisters-in-law, Doris Foit, of West, and Josephine Harper, of Bellmead; and several nieces and nephews.
