Polly Barton August 17, 1923  -  June 7, 2024 Pauline "Polly" (Foit) Barton, age 100, of Hewitt, formerly of West, passed away Friday evening, June 7, 2024 at her residence. Funeral Service will be held 10:00 a.m. Thursday, June 13, 2024 at West Brethren Church in West, with Brother Terry Crawford and Rev. Curtis Holland officiating. Burial will follow at West Brethren Cemetery in West. The family will receive visitors from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m. Wednesday at Aderhold Funeral Home. Polly was born August 17, 1923 in West, the daughter of Joseph and Carrie (Horak) Foit. She graduated from West High School . On June 30, 1945, she was united in marriage to Ervin R. Barton in West. Ervin preceded her in death on January 2, 1997. Polly was a lifetime and faithful member of West Brethren Church where she taught Sunday School, sang in the choir, and was very active in the Christian Sisters organization and other Church activities. She worked for the Naval Aeronautical Department in Washington, D.C. during World War II. Polly retired from Connally ISD where she worked as a Bookkeeper for many years. Polly loved traveling and camping, especially with Ervin. She enjoyed working in the church, helping others, working on jigsaw puzzles and word searches and spending time with family and friends. Polly is also preceded in death by her parents; sisters, Lillian Fojt, and Helen Kudelka; brothers, William Foit, Joe Foit and Robert Foit; and a son-in-law, James Galanti. Survivors include her daughters, Shirley Galanti of Hewitt, and Susan Martin and husband John of Waco; her grandchildren, LeAnn Schneider, Kimberly Rankin and husband Russ, and Robert Sleeper and wife Amanda; great-grandchildren, Katelyn Rankin, Alyssa Rankin, Olivia Schneider, and William Schneider; her sisters, Anna Ruth Lovecky, and Dorothy Schovajsa; and many nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. Active pallbearers are Russ Rankin, Robert Sleeper, William Schneider, Alan McNeil, Alvin Moravec and Matt Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are Roy Janek, Edwin Husak and Wilburn Willis.
